More than 660 homes and businesses have been left without power in Scarborough as crews work to restore electricity.
Western Power said 662 customers were without power on Friday afternoon after an unplanned outage struck the suburb.
Crews were on site carrying out repairs, with power expected to be restored by about 6pm, although some customers could get electricity back sooner.
The number of affected properties continued to climb throughout the morning.
At 8.52am, 594 customers were without power before another 73 properties lost supply at 9.01am.
By 11.30am, a further 68 customers had been affected, pushing the total to 662.
Western Power has not confirmed the cause of the outage.
The utility said repair crews were on site and working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible.
