Perth-raised actor Josephine Langford’s latest project has finally been given a release date.

The young star made her Hollywood debut in the hit film After, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the sequel, After We Collided.

Based on the book series of the same name, the next instalment follows the continuation of Tessa and Hardin’s love story from the second book.

The team at Roadshow have been releasing teaser clips, trailers and behind the scene glimpses as the release date continues to be shifted — but today they finally caved and gave After fans what they want.

The first full length trailer for Langford’s latest project dropped last night, and leaves little to the imagination as the sequel ramps up the sex, love and lies.

A synopsis for the film promises a parallel storyline to the book sequel of the same name, where Hardin and Tessa attempt to patch their relationship from where they left off at the end of After.

“She wishes she could walk away. It’s not that easy. Not with the memory of the passionate nights they spent together,” the synopsis read.

“Still, Tessa’s not sure she can endure one more broken promise. She’s focused on her studies and just starting an exciting new internship at Vance Publishing. She's also being pursued by Trevor, a handsome new co-worker who is exactly the kind of guy she should be with.”

This film will see the introduction of two new characters: Trevor, played by Dylan Sprouse and Kimberly, played by The Vampire Diaries’ Candice King.

Roadshow also confirmed the movie would hit cinemas across Australia on September 10.

Langford is not the only one in her family busily promoting blockbuster projects, with older sister Katherine Langford returning to Netflix for the fantasy epic Cursed.

The fantasy series was released last week and the 24-year-old said she wanted her character, Nimue, to maintain the integrity of the lead character.

“I really wanted that strong sense of not undermining her capabilities and honouring what she could do in the circumstances where she could,” Langford said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

A big part of that was becoming a “capable and confident sword fighter” for which Langford received four weeks training.

“To be able to get through that shoot and to perform all the stunts, that’s really what I wanted to do, to honour Nimue’s strength,” she said.

“Not only learning a skill set in a short period of time and shooting on different locations, but also being able to juggle the spontaneous changes and deal with everything that came with filming while maintaining the integrity of her story.”
