Rodeo crew rapt with response
Talks of a second Beer Farm rodeo are already taking place after the inaugural event, which sold 3000 tickets in just weeks, proved so successful.
Co-organiser Mark Kestel told the Times his company, Double Barrel Entertainment, had wanted to bring the most professional, well-run rodeo possible to the region — and feedback on Sunday’s sold-out event indicated it had succeeded.
“We’re absolutely rapt — the feedback has been phenomenal,” he said.
“The cowboys all thought it was the best rodeo they have been to.
“They loved the crowd response and participation.”
But even with the positive feedback streaming in, Kestel joked it would be the “first and worst”.
“We’re going to tweak and tune it and make it even better for next time,” he said.
Kestel expected the rodeo would remain at Beer Farm and said it could possibly grow to two events a year.
“The Beer Farm has the perfect setting to make this event one of the best in the country,” he said.
“The guys are absolute legends and awesome at what they do.”
The full-points rodeo, which contributed to the Professional Bull Riders’ tour, was staged with the Australian Bushmen’s Campdraft and Rodeo Association.
