Roll up for fun family fundraiser

Declan BushAugusta Margaret River Times

The Margaret River Organic Garden amphitheatre will host a family concert on Sunday, with relaxed music and circus acts.

Entertainer Johnno B Biscuit — known to his friends as Johnno Tate — will perform in a circus duo with son Jezrah in the Cookie and Biscuit Big Bang Show, and later as frontman of local parody band The Antics in their debut gig.

Tate said the event would celebrate family fun and raise funds for the Organic Garden by gold coin donation. He said the gig would have a laid-back atmosphere and residents were encouraged to bring a picnic.

“I’m not into the serious stage act,” he said.

“Someone’s got to do something a bit different.”

The garden’s ukulele club will perform from 3.30pm, while Broome singer-songwriter Tanya Ransom will be on stage from 4.15pm.

Tate said the gig would tie in with sustainability group Transition Margaret River’s fifth birthday, and he would cut the cake.

The alcohol-free event will run from 3.30pm-6pm and the garden cafe will be open.
