The South West is set for its coolest weekend in weeks, with the mercury likely to drop well below 30C in most parts of the region. After a sweltering festive season, the region was given some relief last weekend, but more is on the way. But the cooler weather isn’t here to stay, with a scorching hot working week forecast. Bunbury is set for 27C on Friday, before cloud cover sees the temperature drop further to 25C on Saturday, with a low of 13C overnight. But once the cloud clears on Sunday, the city is set for another hot week, with a 29C day forecast for Sunday, before three consecutive days above 30C to start the week. It’s a similar outlook for Harvey, which is set for a pleasant weekend before tops of 34C, 36C and 38C to start a hot working week. Busselton also be cloudy and 27C on Saturday — some short-term relief before a hot week there as well, while Margaret River is forecast for weekend days of 25C and 26C. The tourist hotspot, which is still brimming with school holiday visitors, will be spared the hear until Tuesday, when the mercury reaches 24C. Further south in Augusta, the mercury won’t reach above 30C until Wednesday after a pleasant weekend, while further inland at Collie, Saturday is set for 28C and Sunday for 30C before an extremely hot week, including a 39C day forecast for Wednesday.
