Angus and Julia Stone set to headline Good Day Sunshine Festival in new Gloucester Park location

One of the country’s most well-known sibling musical acts will head to Margaret River later this year as part of a seven-act festival line-up. Angus and Julia Stone will grace the Gloucester Park stage as the headline act for the Good Day Sunshine Festival on December 7, which is set to be the first to take place at the town’s sporting ground in 13 years. It is set to be a WA-exclusive performance for the Sydney brother-sister duo, who have received six ARIA Awards and four APRA Awards over their nearly two-decade career. The pair are perhaps best known for their hit Big Jet Plane, which was No.1 in the 2010 Triple J Hottest 100. Joining them will be indie folk band Boy & Bear, whose debut 2011 album Moonfire reached double-platinum status and received five ARIAs. The group has had plenty of success since, racking up a 250 million streams on music platforms. Fresh off two major European tours, Queensland outfit The Dreggs will showcase their new single Take A Little Time alongside some songs including Give Myself To You, Just For One Night and Call Me Home. Consisting of Paddy Macrae and Zane Harris, the duo have proved themselves to be stellar songwriters after starting their careers singing covers in pubs. Perth’s Jordy Maxwell headlines the WA performing contingent on the day, with the Triple J Unearthed Feature Artist amassing more than 20 million Spotify plays since he started releasing music in 2017. He is loved by fans for his engaging storytelling and a music style which is one of introspection. Fellow multimillion stream artist Paige Valentine is no stranger to a festival crowd and is set to resonate strongly with those of all music tastes. Margaret River region artists Kiki & Co, Kiera Jas and Olive Mae will also take to the stage in the fourth instalment of the festival, which has relocated from the Three Oceans Winery where John Butler and The Cat Empire performed at the last festival in April. December’s Good Day Sunshine will be the first in the festival’s history to allow those under the age of 18 to attend, though they will need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
