South West communities will have the opportunity to learn more about autism ahead of Autism Awareness Month with a range of free workshops.

Autism Association of WA is hosting workshops for families, individuals and the community on topics including understanding autism, children and autism and getting to know the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

The team is travelling throughout the South West during its regional visit and will host sessions at Manjimup on Monday, Margaret River on Tuesday and Wednesday, Busselton on Wednesday and Bunbury on Thursday and Friday.

World Autism Awareness Day takes place on April 2 and aims to encourage conversation about the condition, spread kindness and help educate others.
