A Bunbury Volunteer Bushfire Brigade cadet has been recognised in this year’s WA Fire and Emergency Services Awards.

Jordan McIntosh won the youth achievement award in the firefighting category, which recognises an exceptional volunteer under the age of 25 who has stood out among their peers.

Jordan joined the Emergency Services Cadet course at his school in 2016 and this led him to joining the brigade.

“Initially I found those situations quite confronting, but having dealt with them a fair bit now I feel more comfortable with them,” Jordan previously told The Times.

I really enjoy the rush of going to a fire, you never know what’s going to happen.
