Busselton Netball Association to host South West & Peel Regional Championships this weekend

Hundreds of netballers from across the South West and the Peel regions are set to arrive in Busselton this weekend as netball associations gear up for the region’s netball championships. Busselton Netball Association will host the 2023 Netball WA South West & Peel Regional Championships, which will see 65 teams flock to the Lou Weston Outdoor courts for a two-day tournament that will determine the best of the best in the regions. Netball associations are set to send teams include Busselton, Bunbury, Eaton, Manjimup, the Peel Football Netball League, Collie, Mandurah, Leschenault, Harvey, Serpentine Jarrahdale, Margaret River, Bridgetown, and Donnybrook. This year’s tournament will also coincide with the 75th anniversary of the Busselton Netball Association. Featuring age divisions from mixed 12-and-under through to open, the championships provides a platform for association representative teams to compete against other associations in the geographical area. The tournament also provides opportunities for the netball community to come together to network and socialise, coach mentoring and umpire coaching, as well as providing the chance for selectors to identify talent for further pathway programs and regional representative teams. Along with celebrating the teams that win each age division, the championships will showcase talent in all aspects of the competition from awarding the coach of the meet, umpire of the meet and the sportsmanship award, to the rising coach, rising umpire and the best dressed.
