Local golfer takes out win for 48th JB Ipsen golf tournament on weekend

Manjimup golfer Lachlan Muir and Bunbury’s Kat Kelly were named the men’s and women’s winners of the 48th JB Ipsen Memorial Tournament over the weekend at the Manjimup Country Club. The three-day competition was attended by players from across the state, starting with a 4BBB stableford competition on Friday. Floyde Neil and Peter House took out third place with 47 points, while Adam & Kai Davey were fourth with 46 points on a count back from Clint Adams and Andrew Kristoffersson. The main stableford and stroke competitions took place on Saturday and Sunday, with Kelly having the best score in the women’s stableford competition with 79 points, while Manjimup’s Robyn Kristofferson was runner-up with 74. Vanessa Kelly came in third place on a countback of 71, while fourth place went to Kerry DeCampo with 71 as well. The gross winner was Karen Murray from Katanning. Muir was named the men’s winner after having the best nett score of 140, while Peter Zahos from Perth Golf Network came in second with 144. Wayne Maxwell from Chequers was named gross winner with 149 points.
