Some of the South West’s best footballing products will play integral roles in the WAFL finals for 2022.

Players from across the region are set to star as West Perth, East Fremantle, Claremont, South Fremantle and Peel Thunder compete over the next four weeks for the premiership flag.

On Saturday, East Fremantle will host Claremont in the qualifying final before South Fremantle and Peel go head to head in Sunday’s elimination match.

Former Augusta-Margaret River and St Kilda player Jonathan Marsh will be a key threat up front for the Sharks after finishing second in the league’s goal-kicking tally, while Bunbury’s Michael Tassone is likely to collect plenty of the ball having averaged 17 touches for the year.

Reigning Sandover Medal winner and Bunbury-born star Bailey Rogers will likely have an impact again for the Tigers after averaging 26 possessions and a goal for the year.

On Sunday, South Fremantle and Peel will go head to head in an elimination final, with both teams in red-hot form having won six of their past seven games.

Former Harvey Bulls ruckman Hamish Free will be a key for the Bulldogs having recorded the second-most hit outs of any player in the competition this year to go with 12 touches a game.

Meanwhile, Connor Blakely and Ethan Hughes are expected to have a massive say for the Thunder on the back of stellar seasons in the Dockers-aligned team.
