Football Margaret River’s SWSA premier women’s team’s title hopes received another timely boost, after thrashing the bottom-placed Dynamos 15-1 on Sunday at an overcast Forrest Park.

It was a swift display from the visitors, who moved the ball thoroughly in the middle of the park and capitalised on numerous occasions in the final third of the pitch.

Leading 5-1 at half-time, FMR charged out of the gates in the second half, with Francesca May adding a sixth goal after getting the better of Dynamos goalkeeper Jennika Soles.

Despite Soles enduring a challenging afternoon between the posts, her teammates encouraged her to remain positive and give her best.

By full-time, FMR duo Kai-Anna Prendergast and Salla-Maaria Salmi had each finished with five goals. Both players have combined for 20 of FMR’s 44 goals already this season — a fact which will likely keep rival goalkeepers up at night.
