Hike the Meelup Reserve Trail If romance for you means waking up early to break a sweat, then a picturesque hiking trail might be just the thing to sweep your partner off their feet. The Meelup Reserve Trail is a beautiful serene 7km coastal walk along north-facing Geographe Bay. The bush track is a moderately easy walk, so perfect for both most levels of fitness and motivation. This walk will take you to isolated bays and popular beaches renowned for their calm turquoise water. To take your hike to the next level, bring your snorkelling gear for a mid-hike adventure on the small reefs scattered on the coast. The trail starts just off Hurford Street in Old Dunsborough and will take you past Curtis Bay, Castle Rock, Castle Bay, the famous picturesque Meelup Beach and Point Picquet. Bursting with wildlife, there will be plenty to see as you enjoy the stunning South West bush. The hike finishes up at Eagle Bay where you can reward yourself with a cold drink and a bite to eat at Eagle Bay Brewery. Gin Blending Workshop You and your partner can become master gin distillers with a hands-on workshop at the Margaret River Giniversity Distillery. The two-hour workshop is run by experienced distillers who will run you through some of the core botanicals and building blocks to create delicious gin, before you are invited to use your new skills to develop your very own bespoke gin blend. Giniversity is notorious for using native botanicals from the region to give each bottle a distinctly local twist, so you can expect a magical blend of art and science during your learning. You will be able to take home a 500ml bottle of your very own distilled gin at the end of the workshop, which we recommend using to make gin cocktails to celebrate your success. Picnic for two at Meelup Meelup farmhouse is a tried and tested classic for a cute brunch spot, but their picnic hampers offer a little more intimacy under the olive trees, still with all the delicious and carefully crafted produce to provide you with a taste of our Margaret River region.
