Police investigate after four-wheel-drive crashes into light pole in Mindarie

A light pole in Mindarie was ripped out of the ground after a four-wheel-drive ploughed into it late last night.

A white Toyota 4Runner travelling on Anchorage Drive ran over the median strip and crashed into the post near Rothesay Heights about 10.30pm.

The driver, allegedly a man in his 30s, was given first aid by firefighters who arrived on the scene.

He was then taken to Royal Perth Hospital by St John Ambulance.

Police investigations are continuing and it is understood traffic charges will likely be laid.
