A man has died and two other people have been seriously injured after a crash near Bridgetown, 270km south of Perth.

It is believed the car left the road and hit a tree around 11.35am on South Western Highway in Glenlynn, killing one passenger.

The driver of the vehicle and a second passenger were taken to Royal Perth Hospital, where they remain in a stable condition.

It is not known what caused the crash.
