On a night where the South West Slammers men’s team showed how far they have progressed in 2022, the Slammers women’s team showed how far they have regressed.

After pipping East Perth 84-82 back on May 21 away from home, the Slammers were no match for the Eagles on Saturday night at the Eaton Recreation Centre, going down 105-65.

The Eagles began the game in the best possible way, shooting a perfect 5/5 from beyond the arc in the opening five minutes.

Despite plenty of grunt work from senior players Tylinn Carter (22 points, 10 rebounds) and Tiahna Sears (15 points, six rebounds), the Slammers were unable to trim the margin into single figures.

With the result essentially secured by half-time, the visitors were able to turn on the style for the remainder of the game.

Every basket and hungry act of penetration to the offensive glass was warmly cheered by the Eagles bench, who looked anything but the team who dropped their early season clash against the Slammers.
