The Perth Lynx have registered two WNBL wins in a matter of days after COVID caused widespread postponements of round seven of the competition.

Just three games were played as the weekend came to a close, with the Lynx set to play their third game in a week when they face the Melbourne Boomers on Monday.

But playing for the first time since January 2, Perth downed the Southside Flyers 83-79 in overtime on Wednesday behind 23 points, nine rebounds and five assists from American Marina Mabrey and 23 points and 10 boards from Lauren Scherf.

Captain Darcee Garbin bagged 10 points of her own as well as a crucial three pointer to send the game to overtime before Scherf put the Lynx up and the result was sealed at the free throw line.

The Lynx led by as many as 28 in the contest to spoil veteran Kelly Wilson's 400th game, with Mabrey paying tribute to her post-match.

"Anybody that has a career that long is a special player and a special talent," Mabrey told Fox Sports.

"Hats off to Canberra they're a great team and they drew a great crowd.

"But I think we executed our defensive schemes really well. We're a really tough team to stop when we get the ball moving.

"We just play together and play to have fun so, it was a great win tonight."

In Saturday night's fixture it was the Melbourne Boomers who edged Southside 75-72 with four players scoring in double figures.

American import Tiffany Mitchell top scored with 17 points, eight assists and six rebounds while Eziyoda Magbegor chimed in with 16 point and eight boards.

Cayla George and Lindsay Allen added 13 points each in heavy minutes as the Boomers (5-2) sit second on the ladder before their clash with Perth (2-1) Monday evening.
