Fremantle will become Thursday night darlings in 2027, with the Dockers set to play six of their first 15 matches in the primetime position.

Freo have been scheduled to be front and centre on the national stage in the AFL’s fixture release, with two Friday night matches alongside their six Thursday games - the most of any club next year - to ensure plenty of eyeballs on their season of redemption.
The Dockers begin the year with home blockbuster bouts against the Western Bulldogs and Adelaide on a Thursday and Friday respectively, before a Thursday night clash against Collingwood at the MCG in round three. That match will pit new Magpie Lachie Neale up against his old team and former housemate Andrew Brayshaw in what should be the latter’s 200th game.
Freo host Melbourne in a Thursday night game in round 10 before a hat-trick of Thursday games across rounds 14-16, against likely fellow premiership contenders in Hawthorn (MCG), Geelong (Optus Stadium) and Brisbane (Gabba).
The Brisbane clash will be the second of two match-ups against their grand final conquerors, with the Dockers to host the Lions on a Sunday night in round eight.
Brisbane, Hawthorn, Adelaide, Collingwood, GWS and West Coast are Fremantle’s fixture ‘double-ups’ in 2027.
Freo had a superb record across Thursday and Friday nights last season, winning 12 of 13 games. Their sole defeat was the qualifying final match-up against Hawthorn.
The Dockers will again host their Len Hall Tribute Game on the night of Anzac Day, which falls on a Sunday, with this year’s game against Ross Lyon’s St Kilda.
They’ll meet another former member of their coaching staff in Jaymie Graham for the first time in round 12, with the new Kangaroos coach at the helm for the Optus Stadium clash. The Roos will play in Bunbury against West Coast a week prior, with Freo sitting out the trip down south this year.

Justin Longmuir’s side close out the season at home with an Optus Stadium clash against Sydney that will mark the sole meeting between the preliminary final foes.
The Dockers get two MCG matches in 2027, in line with their total from the past three seasons, and play three games at Adelaide Oval, where they’ve won their past four games.
Importantly, they avoid tough road trips to GMHBA Stadium and the SCG, and won’t feature in Tasmania either.
Dates and times for matches beyond round 16 will be revealed later in the season.
