SWFL 2022: Augusta-Margaret River with chance to take first spot on the ladder with big win over Collie Eagles

Augusta-Margaret River are in the box seat to reclaim top spot on the SWFL ladder for the first time this year. The Hawks will travel to Collie this week to play the lowly Eagles, with the knowledge a percentage-boosting victory could see them back to first place. AMR currently sit in second place on the ladder, level on points but 3 per cent behind South Bunbury. The Tigers play the Eaton Boomers this weekend who they only beat by a goal in round 6, meaning the door could be open for the Hawks to swoop on top spot with a big victory over Collie. The Eagles are at the opposite of the success spectrum, sitting in dead-last with just one win to their name. Last time the two sides met, the reigning premiers dismantled the Eagles in Margaret River with a thumping 12.16 (88) to 2.8 (20) victory, with Hawks’ forward Harry Taylor booting five. AMR could be set to finish round 17 atop of the ladder if they win in a similar fashion to the way they did in round 6 and the Tigers play out another close match with the Boomers.
