UPDATE: West Coast have been confirmed to host a Thursday night Optus Stadium blockbuster against back-to-back reigning premier Richmond in the latest AFL fixture extension.

The league this afternoon confirmed the timeslots for rounds 13-15, with the Eagles locked in for the marquee slot in round 14 (June 17).

As flagged, West Coast were given the Thursday night clash as part of the AFL’s push to have its floating fixture provide an opportunity to put the best teams and games in the best timeslots.

The Eagles-Tigers match-up is one of only two featuring current top-eight sides that week, with Geelong’s showdown with the Western Bulldogs at GMHBA Stadium the other.

The league’s two most recent premiership clubs haven’t met in WA for three years, with a Jack Darling-inspired Eagles running away in the second half of their only Optus Stadium clash in round 9 of 2018.

Thursday night games will be a feature of rounds 13-15, with Port Adelaide hosting Geelong in round 13 before Brisbane and Geelong clash at the Gabba on that weekday in round 15.

West Coast is coming off a bye in round 13 to enable no complications with a short break leading into their Thursday night fixture. The Eagles then have a 10-day break with no travel before hosting the Bulldogs in round 15.

Fremantle will play host to Gold Coast in a rare Saturday afternoon game at Optus Stadium in round 13, before a bye the following week.

The Dockers travel to Marvel for a Saturday twilight clash with Collingwood in round 15.
