Travellers have been flocking to Singapore and spending big.

The latest data from Singapore Tourism Board shows that 1.3 million Australians visited between January and September, 2025. That’s 8 per cent more than the previous year.

And, in the same period, visitors spent a record $26.63 billion.

A spokesperson for the newly opened five-star lifestyle hotel says the new data highlights how Australians are travelling to Singapore for premium, experience-led stays that prioritise food, wellness, design and a sense of place.

“METT Singapore has been conceived precisely with this traveller in mind,” says the spokesperson.

It is set within the lush and historic grounds of Fort Canning Park.

The spokesperson explains: “METT Singapore blends elegant colonial architecture with contemporary interiors, creating a rare resort-style city escape just moments from Orchard Road and Singapore’s cultural precinct.

In mid-March, I’m finding prices from $425 a night for a premier city view room.

“With just 84 rooms and suites, the hotel offers an intimate, design-led stay that feels worlds away from the CBD towers Singapore is known for.”

Restaurants are led by globally awarded Italian chef Daniele Sperindio.

There are fitness studios and wellness facilities, and a pool club and padel courts. (Padel is a racquet sport that blends elements of tennis and squash.)

“Looking ahead, METT will also introduce Madison House, a private members’ club and advanced longevity and biohacking concept launching in 2026 – further reinforcing Singapore’s evolution toward high-value, experience-driven travel,” adds the spokesperson.
