Two Capes pianists, music teachers and mothers will combine their talents to host a series of events for children this December.

Margaret River’s Elodie Short and Busselton’s Anna Bogachova will present three classical music concerts throughout the region in the lead-up to Christmas.

The performances will centre around Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, but with arrangements for four hands on the one piano.

Both Ms Short and Ms Bogachova were trained classically in Europe and have called the South West home for many years.

The duo said they wanted to host the concerts as they enjoyed introducing children to music and contributing to the cultural life of the region.

“As live classical music events are quite rare in our region, we would like as many people to come along and support it as possible,” Ms Bogachova said.

“It’s going to be a fun and educational experience for the whole family,” added Ms Short

The concerts will be held at Busselton Uniting Church on December 7, the Margaret River Uniting Church on December 14, and the Caves House Hotel in Yallingup on December 15 at 10am.

Tickets are $10 on the door.

The concert will be follow by art and craft activities.
