The former home of a cult favourite Chinese restaurant has been destroyed after being taken over by a raging fire.
Fire crews rushed to the property on Hay Street in East Perth at about 1.20am Thursday where the blaze was raging through what used to be Golden Treasure Chinese Restaurant.
A witness said the building was engulfed in flames before firefighters arrived and quickly contained the inferno.
The Facebook page for the restaurant was last updated in 2022, but it is not known when it officially shut down.
The restaurant had a four star Google rating and hundreds of glowing reviews praising its quality and affordability.
Police say the cause of the fire is non-suspicious with inquiries into the incident ongoing.
