Commonwealth Games: Live coverage of Day 5 action from Glasgow

The basketball action has tipped off, with Australia facing Scotland looking to keep their undefeated run alive against Scotland.

Cameron Myers topped the heats for the one mile run to redeem Oli Hoare’s short comings.

Australian officials have gone to protest the trip.

Mia Scerri slipped to a second place finish for the Heptahalon long jump, unable to beat her first attempt of 6.29.

While Tori West’s PB finished inside the top 10.

Hoare finished the run and will unsurprsingly race over to the judges table as he will surley protest the push.

In a less controversial run, Adam Spencer finished top six while running a season best.

Defending champion Oliver Hoare has fallen over during the men’s one mile qualifiers after being pushed by another competitor.

The Australian hit the deck after another racer came up behind, but he has gotten back and turned the jets on to get a finish time.

A strong dive set up Brittany Castelluzzo for her 200m butterfly heat winning swim, finishing in a strong 2.10.46 ahead of teammate Jessica Cole.

While Lizzy Dekkers glided to a second heat qualification with her blistering 2.08.64 time.

The stacked card delivered in the 200m freestyle, with some big names missing out on the finals.

In a shocking result - reigning 200m gold medallist from the Birmingham Games, Duncan Scott of Scotland, failed to qualify.

Although the Aussies took care of business – with Short, Harrison Turneer and Kai Taylor filling three of the eight available spots.

It was a stacked fourth heat in a crowded field for the men’s 200m freestyle with Sam Short finishing second by a nose.

Tailing Englishmen James Guy the dolphin couldn’t catch him going down the final 50m, but his 1.45.9 time should do the trick.

Our final result for Day 5 as the clock ticks past 10.30pm in Glasgow is from the netball, where our Diamonds produced a predictably sweat-free 68-32 victory over African minnows Malawi.

Ky Robinson held on in the rain to win the men’s 10,000m on the track.

Flynn Southam took over from Kyle Chalmers as men’s 100m freestyle champ in the pool, while Lani Pallister (800 free) and Jenna Forrester (200m IM) won as expected.

WA’s Iona Anderson added another gold medal for this meet, this time as part of the 4x100m mixed medley relay alongside Sam Williamson, Matt Temple and Meg Harris. Kirralee Hayes was also victorious in the women’s S13 50m freestyle.

And in the gymnastics arena, Brenna Scott (beam) and Jesse Moore (parallel bars) got the job done, before the late Eleanor Patterson victory in the women’s high jump.
